Key UK Drone Laws & Rules 

Flyer ID : From the 1st of January 2026, anyone flying a drone over 100g must complete a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) online theory test to get a Flyer ID (for pilots) and Operator ID (for the drone) if it weighs 100g plus.

Height and distance: Keep the drone in sight and under 120m.

Visual Line of Sight: You must always see your drone and the surrounding airspace.

No-Fly Zones: Avoid airports, prisons and military bases
 

Night flying: At night, drones must display a green flashing light.
